Code Strings
FOR LOVE
Code Strings
You rewrote my source code
without asking permission.
One look.
Everything I was…
deleted.
Overwritten
with strings of you.
Love is just malicious software
that crashes the system
and calls it beautiful.
My heart…
01001000
01100101
01101100
01110000
Binary for help
but it comes out
as I love you.
I'm glitching.
Every thought
loops back to you…
infinite loop,
no exit command,
no way to break free.
You're the virus
I keep downloading
knowing it will destroy me.
I'd rather be corrupted by you
than clean without you.
My hands shake
typing your name
like it's the only string
that compiles.
Delete.
Backspace.
Undo.
Nothing works.
You're embedded now.
In the core.
In the root directory
where I keep the things
I can't afford to lose.
Run program: forget_you.exe
Error.
Error.
Error.
The code won't let me go
because I wrote it to keep you.
I'm breaking down…
fragmenting,
corrupting,
becoming zeros and ones
that only spell your name.
You smile.
System crash.
Reboot.
And there you are again…
line one,
first string,
the only code
I can't debug
because you're not the error.
You're the entire fucking program.
Poems don’t drink coffee, but poets do ☕
If you’d like to support that process, you can buy me a coffee below.

The metaphor is sharp, and the tension between wanting to delete and choosing to keep is what really makes it powerful. 💚
Moring Shadia The way you use code and glitches makes the heartbreak feel modern and raw.
It sounds like a heart that knows it’s breaking… and still chooses love anyway.
